ICx Technologies Wins Transportation Contract Worth up to $11 Million
ARLINGTON, Va. (June 9, 2010) – ICx Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq GM: ICXT), has been awarded a systems manager contract valued at up to $11 million by the City and County of Honolulu for a Joint Traffic Management Center (JTMC). The JTMC is meant to provide active traffic management functions, to improve transportation safety, efficiency and the quality of life on O’ahu. ICx will support the design and implementation of the technologies and systems within the JTMC building that enable operations. The contract is currently funded for $2.7 million.
The City and County of Honolulu, in partnership with the Hawaii Department of Transportation (HDOT), are working to implement a JTMC with the primary purpose of actively managing traffic both during normal and incident operations. The agencies proposed to be housed jointly within the JTMC include HDOT and the City and County of Honolulu Police, Fire, Emergency Management Services, Transportation Services and the Department of Emergency Management. The JTMC is planned for occupancy in 2014.
