ICx Technologies Announces Achievement of More Than 400,000 Hours of Successful Radar Operation on Southwest Border

ICx Technologies, a provider of advanced technology solutions for homeland and military security, today announced its high performance ground surveillance radars have now exceeded 400,000 hours of cumulative operation on the U.S. and Mexico border. The radars are supplied by the ICx Radar Systems business unit located in Scottsdale, Arizona.

The ICx radars are deployed along the Arizona border to the east at Douglas, and to the west toward Yuma. Their performance achievement validates the robust and reliable architecture of the ICx Frequency Modulated Continuous Wave (FMCW) design. FMCW radar technology is highly effective for tracking intruders as it provides detection capability throughout its full scan sector and it provides industry leading resolution.

"This is both an exciting and significant technical achievement for the radar team, and is accompanied by continued reports of high performance and most importantly, extremely low false alarm rates," says Walker Butler, President of ICx Radar Systems.

ICx radars are uniquely and specifically designed as surveillance radars for border and perimeter security. ICx continues to expand its family of FMCW radars with a strong emphasis on reliability and effectiveness, creating high value yet affordable solutions for its primes, integrators, and end users.

ICx Technologies is a dedicated supplier of surveillance solutions for border security, with mobile tactical platforms, radars, cameras and control software all currently deployed and in daily operation.
