ICx Technologies Announces the Release of the Hospital Readiness Kit
Chemical Agent Detection Sensors Help Hospital Responders During and After a Crisis Event
ICx Technologies, a developer of advanced technology solutions for homeland and military security, announced last month the release of their new Hospital Readiness Kit™ (HRK) for both pre- and post-decontamination detection of chemical warfare agents during a crisis event. The HRK, manufactured by the ICx Agentase business unit is an extremely accurate, simple to use and cost effective tool for hospital responders.
The Hospital Readiness Kit is comprised of a series of simple to use, simple to train sensors that provide a clear yes/no response. The sensors provided by ICx Agentase are the most selective of any field detection equipment, currently on the market and produce reliable results within five minutes. With the HRK, hospital responders have the tools they need to detect the presence of nerve, blood or blister chemical warfare agents on symptomatic self admits before they enter and contaminate the hospital. The sensors can also be used post decontamination to ensure the efficacy of the decontamination process.
There are three critical steps to minimizing or eliminating the potential for cross contamination during and after a crisis event. First, hospital response personnel can use the HRK sensors to detect the presence of chemical warfare agents on symptomatic self admits before they enter a facility. Second, hospital decontamination procedures should be followed in an effort to remove the agent from the victims. Finally, the HRK sensors can be used to assess the efficiency of decontamination procedures before patients are admitted into the facility.
The ICx Agentase HRK also includes two Hospital Training Kits (HTK). Each HTK includes the necessary tools for instructors to train hospital response personnel by simulating exposure to chemical warfare agents. Our agent simulant is a great training tool for decontamination readiness exercises. The sensors included in this kit are identical in functionality to those included in the Hospital Readiness Kit – “Contaminate victims” with provided simulant, detect agent, decontaminate victims and test for efficiency in your next operational exercise. It’s that easy.
