Digital Infrared Imaging Expands to Norway

Sale to provide additional security for critical facility

Digital Infrared Imaging, a subsidiary of ICx Technologies, recently sold a pan-tilt-zoom DI-5000 camera to Statoil, a major European oil and natural gas company to help secure the Karsto gas processing plant in Southern Norway. The camera will be integrated with Detection Monitoring Technology's AIMS Fast-Scan radar which will enable automatic detection and camera interrogation of potential threats.

Digital Infrared Imaging is pleased to team with its Scandinavian distributor Control Design who will oversee project integration. The solution features a geosynchronous interface which overlays radar data on top of aerial photos of the facility. Customized software algorithms will ensure a high probability of threat detection with few false alarms.  Installation is to begin in late 2005.

With this sale, the first in Norway, DII builds upon its considerable expertise in critical facility and maritime security. The company's combined thermal and CCD cameras currently protect more than 25 nuclear power plants, the San Diego Naval Base, and the Ports of Long Beach, Philadelphia, Pensacola, and Beaumont. DII prides itself on being on the forefront of surveillance technology and can easily integrate with other ICx and third-party technologies including radar, unmanned ground sensors, or mobile security towers for integrated, effective surveillance solutions.
