ICx Technologies to Unveil First True, Optical-Zoom Thermal Imager at ISC West
WASHINGTON (Feb. 19, 2008) – ICx Technologies, a developer of advanced sensor technologies for homeland security, force protection and commercial applications, announced today that it will unveil the DefendIR-CZ at this year’s ISC West security trade show. The DefendIR-CZ is the first affordable, uncooled infrared camera on the market that is also equipped with continuous-optical-zoom capability.
Most thermal cameras offer a multi-field-of-view or step-zoom. For instance, if it is necessary to see farther out, the camera operator must step between the fields of view, causing a temporary loss of the target image. The DefendIR-CZ has a true, continuous optical zoom, which gives the user the ability to change fields of vision while keeping the target in focus at all times, adding an additional layer of security.
In addition, the camera
- Features a 30mm to 90mm lens.
- Mirrors traditional CCD zoom functionality.
- Adds greatly to the DefendIR product line, which has been a workhorse in the industry and was part of the equipment chosen by ATF for its Super Bowl security strategy.
