Local Firm Donates Security Equipment to U.S Park Police and National Park Service for July 4th Festivities on National Mall

WASHINGTON (July 10, 2008) - Alexandria, Va.-based ICx Technologies (NASDAQ: ICXT), a developer of advanced sensor technologies for homeland security, force protection and commercial applications, announced today that it had donated two Fido® XTsTM, two Fido® PaxPointsTM, two IdentiFINDERsTM, and one SkyWatchTM Tower to the U.S. Park Police in cooperation with the National Park Service to help insure security at the July 4th celebrations on the National Mall. ICx personnel also conducted pre-event training for security personnel.

In addition, the SkyWatch tower assisted the Washington, D.C. police department as well as the D.C. Fire Department during an evacuation drill, which was conducted at the end of the evening. As well as thermal and CCD sensors, SkyWatch was also equipped with floodlights, spotlights and a public address system.

Fido XT is a hand-held explosives detector that weighs less than three pounds. It is comparable to a highly trained explosives canine - the gold standard for explosive detection. The Fido PaxPointTM is also handheld, but it is designed to detect chemicals that could be used in homemade bombs.

SkyWatch Towers are becoming ubiquitous around the nation. Law enforcement officials in cities such as New Orleans, Memphis and New York City use them for surveillance and crowd control at special events (Mardi Gras, the Super Bowl, NASCAR races, etc.) and others use them for various purposes, including parking lot security. Unmanned versions of the SkyWatch, CerberusTM, are standing sentinel at the Southern Border of the U.S. Each of these towers may be outfitted with radars, thermal cameras, loud speakers and sensors - whatever is deemed necessary for the job.

"As a D.C.-based company, we were more than happy to assist with security on the National Mall," said Hans Kobler, CEO of ICx. "We also provide our equipment and personnel at the Statue of Liberty, and we are in place at other iconic American locations, such as Hoover Dam."
