The Ranger MS-UC DefendIR is an industry leading mid-range thermal imager that can see in complete darkness and through a multitude of environmental conditions including smoke, rain, snow, dust and dense fog. The Ranger DefendIR is based on Forward Looking InfraRed (FLIR) technology developed for the U.S. Military. The Ranger DefendIR is ideally suited for day and night perimeter security, maritime surveillance, and DHS/DoD applications. The ruggedized housing is environmentally sealed and certified to meet NEMA4X and IP65 specifications, standing up to the most challenging weather and temperature conditions. Offering 144 different configuration options, each camera can be customized to meet detailed range performance and site integration requirements. Combined with a true continuous optical zoom and state-of-theart video analytics, the Ranger DefendIR series offers a ground breaking integrated surveillance solution.
Continuous Optical Zoom
Most thermal cameras offer a multi-field-of-view or step-zoom. For instance, if it is necessary to see farther out, the operator must step between the fields of view, causing a temporary loss of the target image. The Ranger MS-UC DefendIR CZ has a true, continuous optical zoom, giving the user the ability to change fields of view while keeping the target in focus; adding an additional layer of security.
Ranger™ MS-UC Illuminator
Unique Intruder Deterrence System
The Ranger™ MS-UC Illuminator is a unique deterrence system that utilizes a day / low-light CCD camera with a high-power spotlight to detect, deter and immobilize intruders. The spotlight on the Ranger MS-UC Illuminator is available in 12 million-candlepower (MCP), and can detect and temporarily disorient intruders within a one-mile radius. When paired with a FLIR millimeter wave radar; the Ranger MS-UC Illuminator can be a powerful addition to detect, visibly illuminate intruders, and show security forces where to respond.
Strengthen Standoff Protection
The Ranger MS-UC Illuminator provides a non-lethal deterrence mode which uses a high-powered strobe light that can temporarily blind or disorient intruders. Additionally, it can serve as an alert to unwanted traffic in the vicinity (people, boats, cars, etc.) that they are in a restricted area and encourage them to leave. The Ranger MS-UC Illuminator is available in both a covert or non-covert option and extended range performance can be achieved through the addition of an optional HyperZoom Lens.
