Since 1993, the Royal Danish Navy has looked to FLIR for proven, reliable systems to aid in counter-piracy operations as well as surveillance, reconnaissance and search-and-rescue. The U.S. Navy's Shipboard Protection System (SPS) program and Special Operations Craft-Riverine rely on FLIR sensors to protect vessels and crewmen from asymmetrical threats. Additionally, the U.S. Coast Guard has trusted FLIR since 1984, with orders exceeding 250 systems, including multi-sensors for various maritime platforms like the 270' Medium Endurance Cutter and the National Security Cutter.
